It is within this database that you will enter the licence keys that AI has generated for you, and it is that database that will be checked by the Validate php script to which you should have seen reference in the documentation. Your host provider will also in all probabality provide you with access to a tool that will allow you to configure a database or databases within that copy of MS SQL or MYSQL. Now on that server you will need to have a database engine (this is typically something that your host provider will install for you (and it will typically be either MS SQL or MYSQL (you can find out more about these by doing a google search). It needs to be at a location that can be acceseed (via the internet) by your end users when they register / licence your application. If you have a wesite, then that wesite will reside on a server somewhere (and that is the server to which we are all refereing when we talk about the validation server. You need to be very clear about the terminology here, and perhaps to a certain extent we have not helped matters. Also be aware of the fact that whilst the keys generated in any one batch will be unique, that guarantee does not follow for subsequent batches of generated keys, so try and generate enough keys for your needs first time around. Once you have generated your keys do not forget to turn it back on again. NB: In order to get AI to generate keys you will need to temporarily turn off the server side validation option.
You could of course (depending on the complexity of the key you are using) get AI to generate a whole load of keys for you, save them to a text file and add those keys to the database on your server as and when they are required.Īnother option would be to write some sript to run on your server that would generate keys and populate the database, but as you yourself say coding is not as yet your strong point so if I were you at this statge I would use AI to generate a load of keys for me, save them to text file and enter those keys by hand into the database on my server as and when I required them.
When your end user enters the licence key that yo have provided them with for your software, that licence key (and only that licence key) is validated against the keys that are stored in the database that you will have created on your server.ĪI does not export licence keys to your server you need to add them yourself.
